According to Keith Davis[1]: "It is the process of transmitting information and understanding between two people." It's the way you relate to other people through data, ideas, thoughts and values. It brings people from feelings and knowledge.

In business as in personal life of each human being, knowing how to communicate is vital. Every time we interact with people and within companies is the same: Give orders, listen to orders, and communicate information and hundreds of this kind of situations.

Keeping all employees informed of decisions and actions that company makes will generate in them a sense of belonging and partnership which will result in multiple benefits for workers and organization.

Communication in organizations plays a major role, but not being effective and efficient methods have not run the risk of reaching critical points as: misunderstandings, inadequate notice of priorities, confusing orders or application misinterpreted personal criteria; all this creates an organizational climate tense and unproductive. That’s way nowadays it’s so important that managers know how to express, understand, sell and present their ideas both leaders as colleagues and clients.

"Developing excellent communication skills is absolutely essential to effective leadership. The leader must be able to share knowledge and ideas to transmit a sense of urgency and enthusiasm to others. If a leader can't get a message across clearly and motivate others to act on it, then having a message doesn't even matter."

— Gilbert Amelio[2]

Miscommunication: From VIP to RIP

Poor communication of the company affects not only externally, but one of the worst effects that may generate has to do with the deterioration of personal relationships within the team, causing distrust and internal motivation.

When there is no communication, the person changes his status VIP (Very Important Person) to a less optimistic as that of RIP (Rest in Peace). When the employee is unmotivated first thing that happens is a low productivity, products / services of lower quality and a hostile environment in the company; as result less incomes and more outcomes for companies.

"Feeling important means feel like VIP ... motivates someone to know that I'm important to someone. However, when one does not feel important to anyone VIP passes to NIP (Not Important Person) ... and if the decline continues, discouragement comes over reaching the final state of RIP. "

— Enrique Sueiro[3]

Enrique Sueiro notes that "the motivation has to do with feel heard and important." When companies don’t make feel this way to their employees, could be happening noises or barriers in communication.

Good communication: The key to success

Setting good communication channels, training and management skills are essential for the proper functioning of the companies.

As a result of good communication between worker - worker, worker - manager and manager - managing the company and employees will be more successful  achieving their goals.

It will also generate good indoor climate employees to be committed to the wellbeing, each knowing how to work with the company and pushing all to one side to get the results that will allow the company to grow every day. All this will be reflected in improved customer service and therefore to a better status in society.

Good communication will all strive to reach a common goal and improve the working environment throughout the organization. The reward won’t be only for the company but for all its employees and motivation will be even more every time company set new goals.

Improvement Methods

The quality of communication and information can often be improved. This is not something that can’t be changed. The only people and companies need is identified key risks and problems in order to solve them.

The mind map below shows effective communication in organizations in phases including collaborative characteristics.

There are many methods to improve communication in companies, but the most important are Group Teaching, Coaching and Personalized Feedback. All of them could be good program interventions.

Learn to communicate well is the main key to a perfect understanding between people or groups. Within companies, there must always be proper communication that allows keeping all workers, about certain topics that interest them also.
